August

August started off with some swimming and sleeping:

And learning to write her name!
The haul from our garden one day:
I also made a delicious kalua pork and slaw with our cabbage one night that I was proud of and had to document:
This was a BeReal that I liked:
My mallet finger healed!
We celebrated Joe's birthday a little early so everyone could be there (except Eli who was spending time in Utah at Jon and Jaime's so we could do a 2-week performance of Moana with Maggie and Erin). Here was the peach pie Lizzie made:
Jaime sent me this picture. Eli had a lot of fun at their place and even cooked for them:
Eve asleep in our bed which happened a lot for a while there:
Fun with boxes:
Nate and Eve and I had fun going bowling one day:
More fun in Erda--seeing Barbie at the drive in:
A BeReal with two of my girls:
Saying goodbye to James was hard for these girls:
We drove down to Utah to see Eli in his play and we took Maddie with us. He was so good! I was so proud. I especially loved sitting by Natalie with both of us enjoying how good he was together:
It was a great show for only having 2 weeks and for students being in charge of putting it on.
Left claw:
The whole crew in the show (Randon helped put it on):
I loved Natalie's Be Real about it:
Lizzie was so proud too:
After the show we drove down with Jaime to go stay at a fun Airbnb in Salina, UT--it was a tumbling gym with places to sleep and a kitchen. It was so fun and the kids tired themselves out jumping and playing everywhere. They especially loved putting up an obstacle course and timing each other running it. Unfortunately Natalie had to get back for work and a show but the rest of us had a blast.
We celebrated Maddy's birthday while we were there. It was fun having her along:
We also had fun floating a river down there. It was a great weekend. We left early one morning to stop in Provo on the way back so Lizzie could go to a job interview. Here's us waiting for her on campus:
I just loved this picture that my Dad sent with his letter one week:
I was on a walk by the canyon and saw a snake one day:
Eve started school first and I always love getting pictures:
Right before school started Natalie got her nose pierced! I tagged along to give permission. It was wild to watch but she took it well:
Then it was time for school to start up again. Eli decided to pretend like Lizzie was in the picture too:

Here was Eve all ready for preschool:
Of course I had to do a first day of school to last first day comparison for Natalie:
Lizzie and I had fun shopping one day while Eve was in preschool and then getting lunch with her:
I love the beautiful Idaho sky:
These kids all got Orange Leaf one night:
We barely fit in our family pictures before Lizzie left for school and it sadly rained so hard that day. We made the best of it and did end of up with some good pictures. Mostly it was just so fun to laugh and play in the rain:
Natalie also got some really cute senior pictures:
The day we were set to leave to take Lizzie to Provo, I got a call early from Natalie. She had left really early to go to senior sunrise and tried to turn into McDonald's for something to eat and forgot to yield and hit this car in the truck:
She was shaken up and it was a pretty bad one but we were so thankful she was OK and the other driver was as well. We ended up still going to Provo that day butt he truck was out of commission.
We did have a great time getting Lizzie moved in to her dorm--May Hall. I loved getting some BYU Creamery ice cream again:
We went to Bridal Veil Falls:
Matt was nice enough to let us stay at their place and even took us on a beautiful hike:
We walked around campus and these two found a board to write on:
All set up and ready to go:
It was emotional saying goodbye but we knew Lizzie was ready.
Eve and I found a sensory gym that was a lot of fun:
She loved her bear-bear:
Another school pic:
The Bookmobile showed up to the red park one day we were there! I was so excited since I LOVED that thing as a kid:
We decided to trade in the truck as it was instead of paying to fix it up and Joe got a newer one:
We had a scare with Eve one day. She was playing on the swing out back and put her arm out to stop herself and screamed in pain. She would not settle down or move it so I decided to take her in. We thought for sure it was broken but they were never able to see a break on the x-ray. They just wrapped it and gave her a splint to wear. Thankfully she was able to move it fine in a couple of days:
