Elizabeth is 15!

I almost forgot to write about Elizabeth's birthday this year. She turned 15! It's still hard to believe she's that old. It was a quiet one because she never asks for much. We did get up before she was up for seminary (so early!) to decorate. We had crepes for breakfast when she got back for seminary.

Since she didn't give us too many ideas, she got a lot of gift cards this year. She also got some books, of course. She wanted a Costco cheesecake for dessert which we put some candles on:

She also got some new earbuds:

Elizabeth had a big year, with graduating from middle school and moving onto high school. She did awesome with the transition to high school. She got up on her own at 5:30am every day for seminary at 6:15, which she seemed to really like. She did great in all of her classes. She did have some more migraines and missed school for that but she always stayed on top of all of her work she missed. She joined the book club at school and had weekly meetings. She volunteered to be the treasurer. She also attended some quiz bowl meetings but didn't compete with them. She made some new friends in her classes and also still hung out with some of her friends from middle school. She was president over her YW class and then became the YW president when the classes were consolidated with the changes. She did a great job leading YW discussions and planning activities with her counselors.

She joined the rec climbing team at The Peak and had practices twice a week. She did miss a few but definitely got stronger. It sounded like the practices were quite hard with pushups and planks and tough climbs. Unfortunately, that all ended with Covid-19 and she hasn't been able to climb since but hopefully she'll be able to get back at it soon.

Elizabeth loves fruit and eats it all day long. We tease her because she considers an apple or a mango a meal. :) She is a healthy eater but also loves handfuls of chocolate chips and baking. She loves music and has been keeping up with the piano even though we stopped lessons this past year. She still is composing music as well. She loves listening to music, too. She still loves her fantasy books and complains about having read everything in our house at least once (not true). But, she also read a lot more classics during the year, including Tolstoy. She still loves to learn. She is caring, giving, responsible, and organized. She's a hard worker and such a wonderful first born child. We love Lizzie!
